Deadline Approaching for Betta Book Publishing’s First Annual Writing Contest

Betta Book Publishing, a local company that helps authors self-publish their work, is holding their First Annual Writing Contest, which will be coming to a close within the next two weeks. Writers in the Upstate New York region, who are interested in submitting their original manuscripts, must do so in time for the quickly-approaching deadline of Sunday, August 1^st.

Once submissions are received and judged, winners of the contest will be recognized and rewarded by or around October 1^st.

“The winners of our contest will be rewarded with cash and gift prizes,” said Kelly Sabetta, Founder and President of Betta Book Publishing. “We are giving away more than $2500 worth of prizes to first-, second-, and third-place winners, as well as the opportunity to be featured in a Betta Book Publishing publication.”

Many local companies are also showing their support for the First Annual Writing Contest, including First Niagara Bank, Balance Point, Midnight Janitorial, Lift Bridge Book Shop, and Robben’s Nest Stitchery.

The contest, which opened in May, is made up of four categories; Fiction, Non-fiction, Poetry, and Scripts; with at least four subcategories in each. Manuscripts may be submitted electronically or via postal mail, and must include the Contestant Application Form and a one-page synopsis of the work. Betta Book Publishing Holds 1st Annual Writing Contest

Betta Book Publishing, a local company that helps authors self-publish their work, will be holding its 1^st Annual Writing Contest, which is the first of its kind in the Greater Rochester area. In support of this cause, many local companies have become sponsors, including First Niagara Bank, Balance Point, Midnight Janitorial, Lift Bridge Book Shop, and Robben’s Nest Stitchery.

“We wanted to create something special that we haven’t quite seen here in Rochester. Betta Book Publishing’s 1^st Annual Writing Contest will be open to all local writers, as they are encouraged to submit their work across numerous genres and categories,” said Kelly Sabetta, Founder and President of Betta Book Publishing. “This is an amazing opportunity for current and aspiring writers, not only will they be acknowledged for their talent but rewarded as well,” said Sabetta.

The contest is designed to show support for, and give back to, the Greater Rochester Area’s writers. Betta Book Publishing will reward contestants with at least $2,500 in cash and prizes for first-, second-, and third-place winners. Also, all applicants will retain the rights to their submitted work.
