A new book recently published by two Rochester, NY co-authors, entitled Generation Preservation: My Story in Trusted Hands, is a culmination and result of the need to help individuals and families preserve the most important information, wishes, and memories.

Generation Preservation can be used as a tool to help others clarify, chronicle, and manage vital personal information for themselves or loved ones, and is intended to give a designated trusted person(s) a guide to direct your wishes and preserve your legacy,” said Glen Cone, co-author of Generation Preservation.

Jeanette Cooper, also co-author, is a marketing manager with Maplewood Estates in Fairport, and is passionate about the preservation of people’s lives, memories, and that which had meaning to them. Together, they combined their complimentary skills to form the basis and structure of Generation Preservation.

Originally created in spring 2010, Cone and Cooper decided to collaborate on the inclusive and detailed project when discussing the challenges faced in their professional fields. Since then, the book has been presented to many audiences including churches, assisted living facilities, recreation centers, senior centers and beyond, which has helped Cone and Cooper gain feedback and further develop the immense value that Generation Preservation offers.

Rochester, NY Author Publishes Number One Selling Book

Rochester, NY author, John Piccarreto, E-published his first title, Beer Cart Girls Save the World, with Write Words Inc., a division of Cambridge Books located in Cambridge, MD. Released May 1st, 2011, the book is a satirical suspense/thriller designed to make the reader laugh and keep them on the edge of their seat.

Beer Cart Girls Save the World was the number one selling book for Write Words and has been in the top 10 out of 916 books at Fictionwise in the Suspense/Thriller category.

“It all started with the question, ‘What kind of training is needed to become a beer cart girl?’” said Piccarreto. “From the beginning, I wanted three themes in the book: golf, training of beer cart girls, andDecember 21, 2012. This book is strictly for entertainment and is intended to provide a diversion for the reader.”

The book takes place on the shore of Canandaigua Lake, as the popular five-week beer-cart-girl certification program is in full swing. This year, however, the program turns out to be very dangerous. Strange things start to happen, as many elements are at play, includingDecember 21, 2012, a solar cataclysm, a missing ancient Egyptian necklace, the CIA, Middle Eastern terrorists, and more. Luckily for Verne, the main character who left his high-powered Wall Street position to purchase the course, two aspiring beer cart girls are determined to help him straighten out this mess and, in the process, for a few believers, help save the world.

Piccarreto, a graduate of Colgate University, has been working nearly 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry and is currently in Quality Assurance for UCB Pharmaceuticals. He came up with the idea for this book a few years ago, and officially stared writing it in November 2009.

“Readers should expect off-the-wall characters, a few laughs, and a suspense-filled mystery,” said Piccarreto. “They will also learn what it takes to be a beer cart girl and what it takes to win a country club invitational.”

Originally from Greece, NY, Piccarreto has been an avid golfer since 10 years old and currently plays out of the Caledonia Country Club. He lives in North Chili with his wife and son, enjoys reading in his spare time. He is also working on writing his next book, which will feature many of the same characters as his first title.

Local Publisher Changes Direction to Help Authors Self-Publish

Rochester, NY – Local publisher, Betta Book Publishing, has been undergoing changes to its operations. Formed in 2008, Betta Book Publishing provides local and national authors with flexible and personalized publishing services, print-on-demand technology, and higher royalties. Using similar principles, the company will now be helping authors to self-publish their work.

“Based on my experiences and getting to know the needs of individual writers, I’ve decided to move toward helping authors self-publish,” said Kelly Sabetta, Founder and President of Betta Book Publishing. “I also want to focus more on helping writers with manuscript development and to help them understand the publishing process.”

The changes will move toward the original goal of Sabetta’s, which is to help authors achieve their dream of publishing, while offering them flexible options, higher royalties and control over their work as they self-publish.

“Self-publishing is on the rise, and I want to help authors learn more about how to develop their work and prepare for the publishing process, which can often be overwhelming,” Sabetta said.
